About the Children's Water Festival

Rain activities at the festival.

The Children's Water Festival is a fun and educational event for students in grades 2 through 5 to learn about the importance on water in their daily lives.

Teachers from across Oxford, Middlesex, and Elgin Counties including London, St. Thomas and Woodstock are invited to register their classes to attend one day of this 4 day Festival held every year in May. The Festival rotates through London, St. Thomas and Woodstock on a 3 year basis. In 2016, the 11th Festival will be held in London at Fanshawe Conservation Area.

In 2015, over 3,600 grade 2-5 students from across Oxford County and surrounding areas participated in the Oxford Children's Water Festival.

Maintaining the quality and quantity of our groundwater and surface water is vital for the future development of our communities and for the health and enjoyment of the residents. Educating youth about water and the environment is the perfect way to start doing this.

Previous festivals have been held in London (2007, 2010, 2013, 2016), St. Thomas (2008, 2011, 2014) and Woodstock (2001, 2009, 2012, 2015).

The Children's Water Festivals are fully fundraised each year and have relied both on generous volunteer and financial support from the community.
